We’ve added a new automated functional testing platform for distributed software systems called PETA.
PETA can be used to test software systems like client-server or service oriented architectures (SOA) on the integration or system layer. It’s focus on communication between software components on the message protocol layer, makes it applicable in almost any environment.
Produced by Verit, PETA also contains Eclipse -based tools for test case development, automated test execution and result analysis. It can be easily integrated into existing quality assurance processes.
The PETA-Platform consists of 5 components which can be used individually as well as in conjunction:
- PETA-Designer The integrated development environment which can be used even without programming knowledge due to the UML-oriented graphical test editor
- PETA-Core The execution environment for functional and non-functional tests
- PETA-Webrecorder The recording component for recording web requests and instantly generating complete test cases
- PETA-Load The component for load-, stress- and performance test
