VectorCAST/C++ is an integrated software test solution that significantly reduces the time, effort, and cost associated with testing C/C++ software components necessary for validating safety- and mission-critical embedded systems.

VectorCAST/C++ parses your source code and invokes code generators to automatically create the test code (stubs and drivers) required to construct a complete, executable test harness.  Once the test harness is constructed, utilities can be used to build and execute test cases, show code covered, and report static measurements.  Test data is maintained separately from the test harness, enabling easy automatic regression testing.

VectorCAST/Cover allows you to gauge the effectiveness of your test efforts by identifying which areas of an application were exercised during a test run. VectorCAST/Cover provides a convenient way to analyze the completeness of your system tests, ensuring that applications are not released with untested code. VectorCAST/Cover allows you to analyze any portion of your application, or the entire application at once. For each file that is analyzed, VectorCAST/Cover creates a multi-tabbed source-viewer widget containing the following information:

Coverage Summary – provides a color-coded view of your source code that identifies code that is completely covered, partially covered, or uncovered.

Metrics Summary – provides a tabular list of code complexity and currently achieved source-code coverage for each subprogram.

Basis Path Analysis – shows all basis paths for each subprogram.

Spec Explorer, is a tool for modeling software behavior and generating test suites from those models.

Models can be viewed as graphical renderings to understand and analyze the expected system behavior and communicate it to others.  Model size can be scoped with regular expressions.  The generated test suites can be run standalone in the Visual Studio test framework or other unit test frameworks.

Doloto is an AJAX application optimization tool, especially useful for large and complex Web 2.0 applications that contain a lot of code, such as Bing Maps, Hotmail, etc.  Doloto analyzes AJAX application workloads and automatically performs code splitting of existing large Web 2.0 applications.  After being processed by Doloto, an application will initially transfer only the portion of code necessary for application initialization.

The rest of the application’s code is replaced by short stubs — their actual function code is transferred lazily in the background or, at the latest, on-demand on first execution.  Since code download is interleaved with application execution, users can start interacting with the Web application much sooner, without waiting for the code that implements extra, unused features.

In our experiments across a number of AJAX applications and network conditions, Doloto reduced the amount of initial downloaded JavaScript code by over 40%, or hundreds of kilobytes resulting in startup often faster by 30-40%, depending on network conditions.
