Good shout. Athens eh. Not one of the obvious ones then.

Istanbul perhaps too? Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have been in the Champions League, and Besiktas had played in the old European Cup (back in the pre-1992 days, before proper football existed...)
Turkey has never had more than two teams in the Champions League
What amazed me was the fact that no London club has ever won the European Cup/Champions League (as pointed out by the commentator in the Spurs game) - I worked back and it is correct - and it only had its first London finalist as recently as 2006 (Arsenal - Chelsea in 2008 being the other). Amazing to think that such a large city has never produced a EC/CL winner....
BTW - smallest city to host EC/CL Winner - is it Nottingham?
Eindhoven is smaller than Nottingham.
